Pulang Araw cast member Angelu de Leon revealed one of the lowest points in her life in entertainment journalist Ogie Diaz's latest vlog on YouTube.
In the video titled “Angelu de Leon, bakit gusto nang tapusin noon ang buhay?”, the actress and politician revealed that she once prayed for her life to end and not wake up from sleep.
Ten minutes and 30 seconds into the 30-minute long video, Angelu starts talking about entrusting her children to God because of the difficulties she was experiencing as a single mom back in 2007.
“There was a time where I hit rock bottom. Kung gustong bumigay, nandoon na ako. Pagod ka na lang magpanggap na malakas ka,” she shared. “Lalabas ka parang walang problema. Sa mata ng tao wala akong problema…may butas eh. May kulang. 'Yung silent prayer mo dun is 'huwag mo na akong gisingin.'”
It was only after attending a Born Again church service that Angelu was able to experience a breakthrough.
“Nahihiya ka kay Lord. Nakita ko 'yung magnitude niya. Nakita ko 'yung laki nung love niya,” she explained. “Hindi mo nakikita 'yung magagandang ginawa niya. Nakikita mo lang 'yung hirap mo.”
Angelu shared that that breakthrough was “the beginning” of her life and something that changed her for the better. It also pushed her to reach out to her family as well as to other people in the industry she feels she may have wronged.
The conversation also touched on the recent controversy between Angelu de Leon and Claudine Barretto, when the latter expressed her objection to starring in a project with Angelu de Leon during Gladys Reyes' recent birthday celebration.
“Eventually, I know magkakaayos kami. And then kung sino man 'yung nakakaintindi, siya na muna 'yung umintindi,” she said. “Hindi naman mahirap mag-apologize sa tamang panahon, sa tamang pagkakataon.”
She then expressed her wish for a face-to-face meeting with Claudine where the two of them can sincerely hash out their differences.
