For the first time in the pageant's history, the Miss Universe Philippines national costume competition will be held in Mindanao.
In one of the more recent posts on their Instagram account, the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced that this year's national costume competition, one of the pageant's most popular segments, will be held at the province of Sultan Kudarat. The competition won't be the only thing happening during the organization's first visit to Mindanao, as they shared in the caption to the post that “tours, a parade, and charity events” are also scheduled.
The national costume competition is the latest challenge that the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines delegates have to face on their journey to win this year's Miss Universe Philippines crown. Just yesterday, the organization opened online voting for the pageant's swimsuit challenge.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization made the announcement on their Instagram account, adding that the winner of the online vote advances to the competition's semifinals.
The Miss Universe Philippines coronation night is going to be held on May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Fans were made aware of this year's online voting less than a week ago through an announcement on the Miss Universe Philippines social media accounts, along with the statement that winning weekly challenges can “secure a spot in the Finals.”
