Pulang Araw stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Alden Richards, together with Dennis Trillo, just shared a glimpse of their characters in the series, in an Independence Day tribute released Monday night, June 10.

In the 45-second video teaser, the first part shows Alden carrying a rifle in a war zone. The next shot focuses on Barbie's tightly gripped fists followed by Sanya running in the woods as if looking for help. The next scene reveals David on his knees in rage and then Dennis is seen preparing his samurai as if getting ready for battle.

As the trailer progresses, Alden is seen carrying the Philippine flag in the battle where numerous bullets are fired and explosives burst simultaneously.

Finally, in the latter part of the teaser, the five Pulang Araw stars stand in line while Alden holds the Philippine flag. On it a phrase reads, "Mabuhay ang Kalayaan! 126th anniversary of Independence Day, June 12."

Earlier today, it was announced that this highly-anticipated series of 2024 will stream on Netflix on July 26, 72 hours before it airs on GMA Prime beginning July 29.

Pulang Araw tells stories of courage, sacrifice, and hardships that every Filipino family has. These stories were inspired by the tales of the unsung heroes who defied the odds of World War II and the Japanese occupation of the Philippines.
