
Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo has clinched the Best National Costume Award for her intricate “Hiraya” ensemble at the 73rd Miss Universe competition.
The global pageant shared on Saturday the list of the top three winners for the category, where Chelsea Manalo emerged at the top.
“Proudly representing their homeland! The National Costume is a way for contestants to share their country's story, traditions, and values with the world,” Miss Universe said.
Chile's Emilia Dides placed second, while Vietnam's Kỳ Duyên Nguyễn took home third place for Best National Costume.
Miss Universe Philippines also shared the happy news on their social media accounts and thanked everyone who voted for Chelsea.
“Thank you to all those who voted to help the Philippines win 1st place,” the organization said.

Made by Filipino designer Manny Halasan, Chelsea's national costume made headlines for its craftsmanship and attention to detail. The ensemble delves into the country's history and deep devotion to religion.
Chelsea's national costume is named “Hiraya,” which means “I hope” or “I wish.”
The intricate piece featured an image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, traditional Inaul fabric, Bulacan's Puni art, and an embellished headpiece to symbolize the Galleon trade.
