Last year's “First Era Concert” was surely an unforgettable experience for the Korean indie rock band, wave to earth.
The band still recalls the electric energy from the two-day event, which made them fall even more in love with their Filipino fans.
It's no wonder they're so excited for their upcoming "Play With Earth! 0.03 World Tour" concert in Manila, set this Friday, February 28.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the band shared how performing at the Mall of Asia Arena this year feels like a dream come true.
"Last year we performed in a large venue for two days," John Cha reflected. "There were so many great people, and we had incredible experiences. But this time, we're performing at MOA Arena, and we're grateful and really looking forward to this concert."
Wave to earth also expressed how Filipino fans have a special place in their hearts, remembering the warm welcome they received at every show.
"Actually, Philippine fans are the most energetic people in Asia, so we expect lots of sing-alongs," the bassist added. "[Filipino fans] also had the biggest [or loudest] voice."
But the band's connection to the Philippines goes beyond just concerts. They fondly look back at shooting their "sunny days" music video in the country, where they had adventures in Mt. Pinatubo and Angeles City, Pampanga. They also enjoyed soaking in the stunning views of the place and discovered local food.
One of the highlights of their trip was riding the local mini bus. "[It's] just (an) open bus. We rode in it and it's really cute. The weather and even the pink sky while we ride that bus [was so memorable]," John reminisced.
As the interview came to a close, wave to earth shared a special message for their Filipino fans.
"Thank you for all the support and love. We truly love the Philippines. Every time we come back here, we feel so much joy. See you at the concert!" the band said collectively.
