Will John Lloyd Cruz be really making a showbiz comeback? The actor set the internet abuzz recently after a series of public appearances and an upcoming television appearance, which his fans have been clamoring for after more than three years of showbiz break.
Though it's been a while, John Lloyd has been regarded as one of the most talented actors of his time, setting one blockbuster hit after another. He rose to fame in the '90s in a youth-oriented television drama, and from then on became a household name
and a matinee idol.
His indefinite leave from showbiz caused a stir, but the actor stays true to his craft and seems to be ready to be involved with showbiz once again.

Many fans would recall John Lloyd and Maja were once paired in a blockbuster movie. The two remained friends and the actor reportedly signed a contract with Maja's new talent agency, Crown Artist Management (CAM).
He was also spotted in Puerto Galera with 'Wowowin' host Willie Revillame, film producer Sam Verzosa, and director Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz, and production manager Malou Santos.
In May 19 episode of 'Wowowin,' Willie commended John Lloyd and showed empathy for his need to take a break from showbiz. “Gusto ko lang batiin 'yung kaibigan nating si John Lloyd. Kagabi kasama ko siya, nasa Puerto Galera kami. Nagkwentuhan kami sa buhay. Tinanong ko siya, 'Bakit ka ba huminto?' Maganda 'yung mga rason niya, e."
Director Edgar "Bobot" Ortiz greeted John Lloyd on Instagram with a photo of the actor captioned with "Welcome back JLC."
John Lloyd is set to make a television comeback after Willie Revillame confirmed that he will be a special guest for the "6.6 Shopee Super Mega Fiesta" television special which will air on GMA-7 this June 6 at 2 pm.
The actor has also gone public and verified on social media. His Instagram account @johnlloydcruz83 and Facebook page is racking up followers. "Good vibes is real," he captioned his first Instagram post.
John Lloyd is also in talks for a project with GMA Pictures and has met with the film production company's president, Annette Gozon-Valdes.
In a recent interview reported on PEP.ph, John Lloyd said his son, Elias Modesto, is a big reason why he is more grateful for everything he has. He said in a radio interview, "Malaki ang papel [niya] sa kung bakit ako ay nandito pa ngayon, kung wala ang anak ko, baka wala na rin ako dito."
John Lloyd is co-parenting his son with former partner Ellen Adarna, who described him as a good and "present" father.
