It's been four years since the internationally famous K-pop girl group BLACKPINK last visited the Philippines and Filipino BLINKS, the collective name of their fans, have been eagerly waiting for them to come back.
BLACKPINK first visited the country in February 2019 for the “BLACKPINK In Your Area World Tour.” Several months after, the four-female group returned for a meet-and-greet event sponsored by an e-commerce brand.
“I'm sorry we haven't come back for four years. I'm pretty sure that the Philippines did not forget about us,” Rosé apologetically told fans on the first night of their sold-out two-day “Born Pink World Tour” concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last weekend.
The much-anticipated concert was organized by Live Nation Philippines and presented by Globe.
Since they missed the South Korean quartet so much, the Filo BLINKS went all-out to show their love and support for the leading K-pop girl group. Of course, BLACKPINK Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa reciprocated these by giving their avid supporters a concert to remember.
Here are some of the official snaps from the concert released by YG Entertainment through the local concert producer Live Nation PH:
(From left) BLACKPINK Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé were surprised to see that the Philippine Arena was filled with thousands of BLINKS. ““I did not realize that the seats are so high… it looks like stars up there,” said Jennie while pointing to the people at the fourth floor of the arena.
BLACKPINK set the mood of the show by doing high-energy performances of their hit songs “songs “How You Like That” “Pretty Savage” and “Whistle.”
Filipino BLINKS never missed the “BLACKPINK in your area” whenever it's needed on BLACKPINK's performances.
BLACKPINK Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé looked like dance leaders of Filo BLINKS who tirelessly danced with the group during the concert.
Aside from BLACKPINK's awesome performances, BLINKS were also treated with creative visuals--from video packages to stage lighting and even the fireworks were on point in each production numbers.
There was never a dead air even during concert breaks because BLINKS were entertained by video presentations that showcased BLACKPINK Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé's beauty and fashion.
As a group, BLINKS gave BLACKPINK a number of pink oceans using their flickering heart-shaped lightsticks called BI-Ping-Bongs. Meanwhile, during their solo performances, each member were also given different color of light oceans: red fo Jisoo, blue for Jennie, white for Rosé, and yellow for Lisa.
BLINKS' BI-Ping-Bongs illuminated the Philippine Arena as the lights went down to signal the start of the show.
For Filo BLINKS, BLACKPINK's “Born Pink World Tour” concert in Bulacan is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience that they will never forget.
