Hollywood actor Josh Duhamel greets Pinoys on National Flag Day

Filipino netizens were pleasantly surprised after Hollywood actor Josh Duhamel took time to greet the Philippines on our National Flag Day.

Josh posted a photo on Facebook of our Philippine flag with the caption "Masaya bandila araw! (This better say 'Happy Flag Day').”

Josh' photo was an instant hit online amassing over 25, 000 likes on Facebook since it was uploaded.

The American actor is known for his blockbuster film the "Transformers," wherein he played William Lennox.

According to the Official Gazette, "the Philippine flag was first unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated Spanish forces in the Battle at Alapan, Imus, Cavite."

President Diosdado Macapagal issued Proclamation No. 374, 1965 which moved  National Flag Day to May 28 from June 12.
