Chynna Ortaleza opens up about difficulty in breastfeeding as a first-time mom

By ANN CHARMAINE AQUINO

Being a first-time mom is a big task. Kapuso actress Chynna Ortaleza can attest to that.

In her recent guesting at 'Sarap Diva,' the actress shared one of the things she had to deal with after giving birth to her Baby Stellar.

"May problema ako with latching kay Stellar.

According to Chynna, she had a hard time convincing herself that she should not only depend on breastfeeding.

Chynna eventually followed the advice of her mom and listened to her husband, Kean Cipriano.

She said, "It was my gut that eventually told me that I had to mix it so I really tried my best naman with the mixing and everything. I got sick and my supply dried up, and then eventually, like my parents, and then my husband told me, 'Look, just because you were not able to attain 'yung goal mo na to exclusively breastfeed Stellar doesn't mean that you're a bad mom'."

Nung nasabi nila 'yun sa akin, oo nga naman what's wrong with giving babies formula milk if it really helps them and I saw the progress with my daughter. She became better after a while, and now she's a happy kid."

The Kapuso star also spoke words of encouragement to moms who are also having the same issues in breastfeeding. Chynna discussed, "Ako naman I'm speaking on behalf of mothers who have breastfeeding issues na they shouldn't really feel bad about it.
