LOOK: Sunshine Dizon writes honest post about estranged husband Timothy Tan

If we were to base the status of their relationship on her Instagram post, we can safely say that things are looking up for Sunshine Dizon and her estranged husband Timothy Tan.

In her April 25 Instagram post, the Kapuso actress wrote a lengthy message containing her thoughts about the status of her relationship with Timothy. 

“To finally set the record straight. Timothy is and will always be the father of my children. It is his right, duty and obligation to be there for his children no matter what the circumstances may be. I cannot put a label on our status but what i’m sure of is that by law and more importantly God’s law i am still his wife.”

Despite their painful past—one that took them to the courts—Sunshine seems to be keeping her doors open to Timothy. While she didn’t exactly say she’s looking forward to a reconciliation, Sunshine doesn’t discount the possibility of them getting back together in the future for the sake of their kids, Doreen and Anton.

“Only time can tell and ultimately God if we are still meant to be together,” she wrote.

Sunshine went on to say that at this point in her life, the only opinion that matters to her are her children’s. Her kids, she wrote, have not totally given up their hope of seeing their parents reconcile. 

“I have read different opinions but one thing is for sure to those who say things as if marriage is nothing. You are probably not married and do not value family. let me just remind you that you are not the mother of two beautiful kids still hoping and praying for our family to be complete and stay that way. As Chinadoll would say it “For her nightmares to end and the evil witch be banished forever so our lives can go back to how it was before." 

Sunshine also clarified that her past feud with Timothy does not change the fact that Timothy still is a good father to their kids.

“You are probably thinking why and how can i still be this way towards their father. Simple, Tim is still a good father in their eyes. He is a hands on father. He drives them to school, helps them with school work, their playmate etc. Tim is far from perfect but at least he tries,unlike some.”

Sunshine implored her followers to understand her situation and to not pass judgment on her. She went so far as to say that Timothy, after all that's been said and done, remains the love of her life.  

“No one will know and understand the sacrifices i make unless you’ve been in my shoes. Do not be quick to judge you do not know the whole story. Family is worth fighting for. Timothy is love of my life. He will always be,but he broke my heart and i have also learned to survive." 

And if there’s anything that her agonizing dispute with Timothy has taught her, it’s the importance of being resilient and strong and hopeful and compassionate and forgiving.

“Pain is a good teacher. Pain will help you discover your inner strength if you allow it to empower you and not wallow in your despair. I am sharing my thoughts and our pictures with you in the hopes of inspiring my fellow Mother’s who are going through a similar situation and show you that it is possible to set aside your differences. That you have the power to choose to raise your children in a loving environment. 

Before she ended her lengthy post, Sunshine had a message to the person that ruined her family: 

“And lastly to show you, yes YOU!(and the likes of you) the family you chose to ruin, innocent beautiful kids you deliberately inflicted pain upon.

"YOU who was fully aware of your actions and could’ve said NO to a married man. YOU better take a good hard look because this is the family you never had and will never ever have.”

Netizens were quick to commend Sunshine for taking the high road.

A user named queeniambeeI wrote: "Salute you Ms. Shine .. your such a strong women.. continue to empower those who face the same challenges in life .. God bless you and your family .."

User mary22gold  couldn't agree more:  "Binasa ko talaga hanggang dulo at I agree sa lahat ng sinabi mo dahil nanay din ako. Ang sarap i-tag nung YOU na sumira ng family nyo. Nakakagigil!"

User vangieciprez gave her thumbs-up: "Very inspirational..again salute you @m_sunshinedizon you deserve this family and wish you all well.."

It could be remembered that in January 2016, Sunshine filed cases of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC or R.A. 9262) and of Concubinage against Timothy and the alleged third party in their marriage, a certain Clarisma Sison. A year later, Sunshine filed an Affidavit of Desistance and withdrew the charges.

Since then, the two have decided to be civil with each other and have been working on fixing their relationship for their kids, according to reports.
