Kapuso personalities bag top honours at the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards

Several Kapuso personalities won major accolades at the recently concluded 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards held at The Theater at Solaire.

Queen of Philippine Movies Ms. Gloria Romero brought home the Best Actress award for her notable performance in the LGBT-themed family drama “Rainbow's Sunset.” At present, the iconic movie and television actress is the host of the Kapuso Station's award-winning and top-rating weekend children show “Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.”

Meanwhile, Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo once again proved his stellar acting chops when he bagged the Best Actor award for his performance in “One Great Love.” The highly-talented actor is currently receiving positive feedback and good reviews for his role in the primetime series “Cain at Abel.”

Beautiful and sought-after Kapuso actress Max Collins, in turn, received the Special Jury Prize for her portrayal in “Rainbow's Sunset.” She is presently one of the hosts of GMA News TV's talk and lifestyle program “Healthy Ever After” together with husband Pancho Magno. Aside from this, Max is set to star in the upcoming drama series “Stolen.”

At the same time, multi-awarded film and TV director Joel Lamangan went home with the Best Director award for “Rainbow's Sunset”, a touching film about an elderly man who comes out as gay to his grown children. The acclaimed director helmed GMA's dramedy series “Pamilya Roces.”

The Metro Manila Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Metro Manila and throughout the Philippines. The festival, which runs from December 25 through New Year's Day and into the first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino films.
