In his Instagram post, Jeron said that the iBilib host was an inspiration to him when he was just a young kid. Chris and Jeron are alumni of Xavier University
“Looked up to this guy since I was a kid! Thanks for being an inspiration to me and to others as well, Ahiya @chris_tiu17! And congratulations for a successful basketball career! #XavierBoys #LuceatLux”
Chris Tiu thanked Jeron for his Instagram post and wished him well in his professional career in the PBA. “Thanks Jeron! You're doing great yourself and you make us proud to be Xaverian! Good luck Shoti!”
Meanwhile, the Kapuso host expressed his gratitude to the PBA Press Corps, after they chose him as the Breakout Player of the Year in the 25th Press Corps Awards Night held last January 21 at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center.
Chris said, “A bit unusual, but certainly means a lot to me to receive the Breakout Player of the Year Award on my retirement season in the PBA. Maraming salamat sa PBA Press Corps sa mga recognition! Congrats sa inyong 25th anniversary and congrats to all other awardees!”
