Kapuso actors nominated at the 3rd EDDYs Awards

Kapuso celebrities and personalities are nominated at the 3rd EDDYs Awards, an annual awarding ceremony organized by the Society of Philippines Entertainment Editors (SPEEd).

Leading the list is the LGBT-themed Rainbow's Sunset with 12 nominations followed by Citizen Jake, Signal Rock, and the historical film Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.

Veteran actress and Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko star Gloria Romero is nominated as best actress for her role in the movie “Rainbow's Sunset.”

She is up against fellow Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro who starred in the indie film Liway.

In the best actor category, it's a tight race for Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes (Sid and Aya) and other show-stopping actors like veteran Eddie Garcia (Rainbow's Sunset) and Paolo Contis (Through Night & Day).

Kapuso actresses are also battling head to head for the Best Supporting Actress category.

On the list we have Bihag actress Max Collins, Sunshine Dizon, and veteran actresses Cherie Gil and Nova Villa.

Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig director Ricky Davao is also nominated for his role as 'Paula' in the 2018 romance film “Kasal.”

Lastly, it's Sahaya director Zig Dulay (Liway) versus trio Noel Pascual, Mike de Leon and Atom Araullo (Citizen Jake) for the best screenplay category.

The EDDYs or The Entertainment Editor's Choice recognizes deserving craftsmen, actors, writers, and directors, for their contribution in the film-making industry in the Philippines. The awards night will be held this coming July 2019.
