Kapuso actress-singer Glaiza de Castro revealed that she wasn't expecting to received an award for Contessa, more than a year after it went off air.

In an Instagram post, Glaiza shared her picture holding the Best Actress plum at the 2019 ALTA Media Icon Awards as she thanked GMA Network for her success.

"After more than a year, I didn't expect I'd still get an award for #Contessa," Glaiza wrote in the caption.

"Maraming salamat sa lahat ng bumubuo ng Alta Media Icon Awards for this recognition.

"@gmanetwork for the opportunity to tell the story of Bea/Contessa, all the people I've worked with and you for the support and encouragement!

"To God be the glory!"

In Contessa, which ran from March 2018 to September 2018, Glaiza portrayed the character of Bea, who was accused and imprisoned for a crime she did not commit.

To get revenge, she took on a new identity as Contessa as she sought redemption and justice against her tormentors.
