We often like to joke about how grandparents love their grandchildren more than their own kids but there is some truth to it.

They often spoil their grandkids with toys or sweets or say "Yes" to every request they make.

However, there are times where their coddling interferes with how the parents plan to raise their own kids.

So, how does one actually deal with grandparents that love to spoil without making them feel like they're being deprived of time with their grandchild?

In Mars Pa More, Camille Prats, Iya Villania, and Nova Villa discussed their experiences with overindulgent grandparents and pampered grandchildren.

According to Iya, her mom gives Primo sweets and snacks even before lunchtime which spoils his appetite.

Meanwhile, Camille shared that for a time, her parents would immediately take her son Nathan's, side whenever she's disciplining him or teaching him a lesson.

"We had to talk about it. I had to tell them na 'Ma, you have to let me discipline my child.' Hindi talaga pwede na lagi kayong papasok kasi malilito na rin 'yung bata. 'Sino ba 'yung susundin ko, mommy ko or lolo't lola ko,'" Camille said.

Nova gave her perspective from the side of the grandparents. According to her, she somehow can't say "No" when it comes to her grandkids. Plus, she doesn't see them all the time which is why she loves to indulge them.

Nova also gave a piece of advice for families dealing with the same concern.

"Siguro ang number one, mag-usap sila 'nung anak niya, 'di ba? Mag-meeting sila, etong si lolo, si lola, at saka 'yung anak mo. Kasi [in a way], nag-te-trespassing ka na rin 'eh.

"Mahirap 'yung role na 'yun, siyempre ikaw, anak, parang ang hirap pagsabihan ang nanay at tatay mo. Mga sensitive na, may edad na."

Lastly, the three women heavily stress that communication is key. When family problems are talked through together, healthy values and morals will be instilled in a child.
