On his Instagram yesterday, December 11, the Filipino rapper officially announced the participation of their group at the closing ceremony today, December 12.

In a separate press conference prepared by Sony Philippines for Black Eyed Peas, apl.de.ap mentioned that initially he only wished to do the torch run.

He related, "When I heard about the SEA Games, I just wanted to do the torch run. 'Cause Wil did it in the U.K., I was like, 'I wanna do that for my country.'

"Then, I was asked to do the opening ceremony. You know, going back and forth with the SEA Games [committee], they asked me, 'You think the whole Black Eyed Peas would do the closing.' I was like, 'Well, let me run it to them.'

Apl.de.ap admitted that it wasn't easy to bring his co-members to the Philippines, especially will.i.am., because of conflict in schedule.

"You know, Wil got a really busy schedule. You know, it took me about a month to get a 'yes.' You really have to move mountains to be involved for the closing," apl.de.ap said.

So, the Pinoy rapper from Pampanga is very happy to bring his friends to perform in at the closing ceremony of 2019 SEA Games.

"Now, we're so excited. I'm so excited that they're here for this historical, momentous event.

"You know, this is a celebration for our athletes for putting a hard work to represent our country in the SEA Games," he concluded.
