International singers Sam Smith and Kelly Clarkson react to viral Pinoy student's cover of 'Too Good at Goodbyes'

Grammy award-winning singers Sam Smith and Kelly Clarkson caught the attention of the the viral Pinoy student who sang "Too Good At Goodbyes" in a karaoke station at a mall.

The "Too Good At Goodbyes" singer, himself, can't help but gush over the Pinoy student's cover.

Sam said in a tweet, "WHO IS THIS KID!!!!!? YOU ARE OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE WHOEVER YOU ARE [heart emoji.]"

On the other hand, Kelly described the internet sensation's rendition of "Too Good At Goodbyes" "insane," retweeting the English singer-songwriter's post.

The American Idol season one winner said, "This video has been going around my team as well! This kid is insane!!"

The "kid" in the video is identified as the 21-year-old Bacolod native, Carl Malone Montecido, who happened to be a part of the top 64 finalists of the second season of GMA singing competition, The Clash. He uses Steven Clarcson as his screen name.

The video was originally uploaded on Facebook by Trixie Madison last Wednesday, February 5.

As of this writing, it has garnered 8.5 million views, 409,000 reactions, 27,000 comments, and 296,000 shares.
