Frankie Pangilinan admits to feeling guilty about being born into a wealthy family
Frankie Pangilinan once again hit back at a troll after receiving backlash over her “Parasite” comment.
On her Twitter account on Monday, February 10, Frankie retweeted the The Academy's official announcement of Parasite's win as Best Picture.
On the same post, she commented, “THIS IS FOR THE ASIAN KIDS WHO CAN GROW UP WITHOUT THINKING THEY HAVE TO WHITEWASH THEMSELVES SOMEHOW. THIS IS THE VALIDATION WE DIDN'T NEED BUT ALSO SADLY DESPERATELY WANTED. THIS IS A WIN.”
The post seemed to has caught the attention of Twitter user @PusitnaMasungit, who commented that Frankie, with her whole family, is the true to life comparison of the rich family portrayed in the film.
The Twitter user wrote, “Coming from you? Kung tutuusin kung may comparison, 'yung pamilya na mayaman sa 'Parasite' parang kayo din ng pamilya mo. So ano punto? Hahahaha. Saksakin ko tatay mo eh.”
Frankie, who is the eldest daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis Pangilinan, took notice of the harsh comment and through a series of tweets, she responded: “Bold of you to assume I wouldn't stab myself first in this crippling guilt over something I had no control over and cannot change tho.”

“Look the guilt eats away at me everyday and I can't do anything about it right now, but I do know it's pushing me and I promise I'm working hard and doing my best to make myself not be a waste of the advantages I was born into.
“I don't know how to apologize for that. But sorry anyway.
“To some of u there might be a strange irony in me loving and appreciating parasite and I get that but the truth is I'd much rather be aware of it than turn a blind and ignorant eye.
“Also please remember I'm my own person, apart from the privilege, however moulded by it.
“Anyway that hurt my heart a bit so I'm going to be taking a break to cry agdjdhdjdhfjh I get it tho.
“The system sucks and I'm part of it however unintentionally.
“I'm so sorry from the bottom of my heart that I can't fix it. But I promise to do my part as soon as I'm able,” she added.
