BIGBANG member Seungri enlists in the military

BIGBANG member Seungri has officially enlisted in the military today March 9th. More specifically, the 6th Infantry Recruit Training Center in Cheorwon County in Gangwon Province.

Upon arriving at the site, he did not answer any questions the press had for him, including the ones about the Burning Sun scandal that involved him, singer and entertainer Jung Joon Young, Highlight's Yong Jun Hyung, and FT Island's Choi Jong Hoon.

According to the Korean entertainment website, Soompi, Seungri will receive five weeks of basic military training and will serve as an active-duty soldier.

Lee Seung Hyun, more popularly known as Seungri, is a South Korean singer and the youngest member of boy band BIG BANG.

On March 11, 2019, Seungri departed from the group and the entertainment industry after allegations of him supplying prostitutes in 2015.

As of writing, the prosecution announced that they had requested a second arrest warrant for Seungri on seven charges namely: procuring prostitution for himself and others, embezzlement, habitual gambling in Las Vegas, illegal currency transactions, violation of the Food Sanitation Law, and sharing three unconsented nude photos of women via mobile messenger.

On February 4, the Military Manpower Administration said they had notified Seungri of his mandatory military service as the criminal investigation was concluded and he had already turned 30 (his Korean age) and needed to meet the legal age limit for serving.
