Ebe Dancel holds online concert for 'Bayanihan, Musikahan' for COVID-19 relief efforts

Local artists aren't letting COVID-19 stop them from performing and helping the helpless sectors of society get through the pandemic.

Ryan Cayabyab and other local artists launch Facebook live concert to raise funds for those affected by COVID-19

Former Sugarfree vocalist Ebe Dancel had a free online concert through Facebook live on Friday, March 20.

Ebe performed OPM hits such as “Burnout,” “Hanggang Kailan Kita Mahihintay,” and “Cuida.”

He said, “Thank you for making me a part of this kahit gaano man kaliit ang aking role dahil taga-kanta lang ako. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”

Ebe also promised he will try to join more relief operations. “Though we're all stuck at home, this will not be the last time I'll be doing this. There are more causes that I want to support, so, just give me time and I'll go a whole hour next time.”

He also encouraged viewers to donate to “Bayanihan, Musikahan”'s PayMaya account for those affected by COVID-19.

“Maliit na halaga, malaking tulong para sa bayan.”

Ebe also took the time to update his fans about his current life and assured everyone he's doing well.

“I miss you all. In case you guys are worried about me, as you can see, I'm doing very well. I'm healthy, I'm eating healthy. I'm getting some exercise at home because we can't run outdoors for now.”

Ebe performed “Tulog Na” for his final song of the night.

“Hanngang sa muli, Pilipinas kong mahal. Mag-ingat po, at pangako, magkikita-kita tayo ulit dito soon. God bless you.” he said as he ended the Facebook live.

“Bayanihan, Musikahan” was launched by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab. It is the a free concert series which features different artists streaming their performances live on their official Facebook pages. The movement aims to promote unity through entertainment among Filipinos during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The concerts also aim to raise funds for the people affected by COVID-19.
