Two-time Grammy Award winner Tori Kelly on Thursday cancelled the Philippine leg of her world tour titled “Inspired by True Events World Tour Live” amid the spread of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Tori announced the news on Instagram.

She wrote, “Ey guys, one more tour update. Due to the ongoing spread of the corona virus, all remaining shows on the 'Inspired by True Events Tour' have been cancelled."

She added, “I'm really bummed & this is the last thing I wanted to do, but it is necessary.

"Praying for our world right now! please stay safe and look out for one another during these times and I'll hopefully see you soon.”

The American singer's concert that was originally scheduled on April 20 was supposed to be her first-ever visit to the country.

Kelly rose to fame after clinching a spot at the semifinals of the ninth season of the singing competition American Idol.

Her second album “Hiding Place” earned two awards at the 61st Grammy Awards for “Best Gospel Album” and “Best Gospel Performance/Song.”
