Amid all that, she also shared her concern with the Senate hearing held yesterday, March 23, approving a bill declaring the existence of a national emergency and granting access to President Rodrigo Duterte to exercise additional powers to address the COVID-19 crisis.

Among the new powers, the bill seeks to give the President the authority to reshuffle savings within the executive department into addressing the crisis brought about by the viral disease --- this includes assistance to the poor who have been gravely affected by the lockdown.

To wash away the public's worries, she shared a screenshot of her conversation with dad Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan following the approval of the said bill.

She wrote in the caption, “I hope this eases your heart as it did mine tonight.”

According to the text message, Senator Pangilinan said that they have removed a lot of controversial provisions of the said bill such as “no more takeover of public utilities, limiting the powers 'til 90 days, and directing funds for equipment, testing kits, and cash assistance.”

The senator assured his daughter, “The dangerous provisions have been removed.”

Kiko Pangilinan is among those who voted “yes” but clarified that he has “serious reservations” on the special powers bill.

The move made by the 19-year-old was highly commended by fans who said they love how Frankie keeps her dad “accountable” for his actions.

Frankie, the daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, is currently in the country and on an imposed “self-quarantine” spending time with her family.
