Marvin Agustin condemns alleged Sam Morales manipulation: 'Virus ang tawag dyan'

By Dianara Alegre

Actor Marvin Agustin consoled the transgender victim of Sam Morales's alleged catfishing scheme, which became a hot topic on Twitter on Monday night.

The celebrity entrepreneur is one of the personalities who condemned the alleged catfishing scheme of a multimedia artist named Sam towards Jzan Vern Tero, a transgender.

On Twitter, the interior design student posted a thread detailing her experience of being catfished. In the thread, Jzan shared the story of her ill relationship with her “imagination.”

She said she met a man identified as Bill Iver Reyes through a dating app. They engaged in a long-distance relationship since Jzan is based in Cebu while Bill is working in Makati.

Their on-and-off digital relationship went on for eight long months until she discovered that she was fooled by Sam, who was initially introduced as Bil's cousin but later on found out pretending to be the man he fell in love with.

Feeling lost and disgusted, Jzan reached out to Sam to clear things up and find out the reason why she ended up “wasak” and emotionally beaten up by a stranger.

Sam, apologetic, revealed that childhood bullying done by homosexuals fueled her anger.

She added that her modus targeting homosexuals was a way of revenge.

Obviously alarmed by the elaborate scheme, Marvin stressed that people's hardship brought about by the world should not be an excuse to carry out wrongful actions toward others.

“Kahit ano pa ang pinagdaanan mo sa buhay, at kahit makipag contest pa tayo ng pinaka-masakit na nangyari sayo, wag piliing maging masama.

“Hindi magiging dahilan o solusyon ang manakit dahil nasaktan ka. VIRUS ANG TAWAG DYAN. 'Wag ka manghawa. SEEK HELP,” he said, referring to Sam.

He then thanked Jzan for sharing her story that he thinks empowered a lot of people, especially the LGBTQIA+ community.

“Salamat @jzanvern for sharing your story and also to others who made us realize how painful life can be but still choose to be kind. You've empowered a lot of people,” he added.

The thread immediately trended on Twitter as netizens showered Jzan and the whole LGBTQA+ community with moral support.
