Super Junior's Siwon Choi confirmed to star in new drama

Hey ELFs and She Was Pretty fans, Super Junior's Siwon Choi has been confirmed to be the lead star in MBC's new project “SF8.”

Set in the future, “SF8” tells the story of people who dream of a perfect society through technological advancements. The project is set to be a sci-fi anthology series that will include different subjects involving artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), robots, gaming, fantasy, horror, and disasters.

The project will be divided into eight, 40-minute mini films with eight separate directors from the Directors Guild of Korea.

Siwon Choi is set to play the role of Choi Min Ju in Oh Ki Hwan's comedy “Augmented Infatuation.” The film tells the story of Siwon's character who enjoys virtual reality dating in “Augmented Bean Pods” but struggles to achieve true love both in real life and virtual reality.

Other stars in the SF8 project include EXID's Hani in “White Crow,” Lee Si Young in “Blink,” Moon So Ri in “Human Proof,” and many more.

Siwon Choi is famously known for being a member of South Korean boy group Super Junior. He made his acting debut in 2005 but was known for many lead roles including Heart of Asia's K-drama She Was Pretty where he starred opposite Park Seo Joon.
