Japanese media giant, Toei Company, Ltd., has just uploaded all its tokusatsu (live-action with special effects) and anime programs on their YouTube channel titled “Toei Tokusatsu World Official” today, April 6.

The list of animes included are Robot-8 Chan, Robot Detective, Daltanious, Go Robottei (Robocon), National Kid, Jiraiya, Laserion, Space Ironman Kyodain, and Voltes V spiritual predecessor Combattler V.

Combattler V, or Chodenji Robo Combattler V was aired in Japan from 1976 until 1977 and ran for 54 episodes. Its name is a portmanteau of the words “combine,” “combat,” and “battle” while the V is intended as an abbreviation for the word “victory.”

Similar to its successor, the robot is composed of five component machines that form the robot as well as its five pilots.

If you're concerned with the Japanese dubbing, fret not because all the videos under the Toei Tokusatsu World Official channel have English subtitles.

Combattler V, Voltes V, and Daimos is part of the Robot Romance Trilogy television series produced by Sunrise and Toei Animation during the 1970s.

Although Combattler V aired in the Philippines it was Voltes V and Daimos who became very famous in the country during the decade.

Stay tuned for more updates on the live-action remake Voltes V: Legacy to be directed by Encatandia's Mark Reyes only here on GMA.
