'Spider-Man' sequels delayed due to COVID-19

By Marah Ruiz

Two untitled 'Spider-Man' sequels have delayed their release dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sony Pictures announced that the follow up to Spider-Man Far From Home, which starred Tom Holland, will movie its premiere date to November 5, 2021. It was originally scheduled to premiere on July 16, 2021.

Meanwhile, the release date of the sequel to hit animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been moved from April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022.

The delays have been caused by the shutdown of production in Hollywood due to COVID-19 and the reshuffling of premiere dates of other movies and major studios.

Uncharted, another film starring Holland has also been affected by the reshuffling. The movie, which is an adaptation of a hit video game of the same title, was originally set to be released on March 5, 2021. It was pushed back to October 8, 2021, then pushed forward again to July 16, 2021.
