'Coffee Prince' actor Gong Yoo reported to make K-drama comeback

Rejoice because K-drama actor Gong Yoo is back! Well, almost.

According to reports made by Sports Chosun, the “Coffee Prince” actor is reportedly set to make his drama comeback in Netflix's original series, “The Sea of Silence.”

“The Sea of Silence” is reportedly an 8-part science-fiction drama featuring a dystopian future Earth where food and water are scarce due to desertification. It will then tell the story of elite agents who will travel to an abandoned moon base to retrieve some mysterious samples for analysis.

It is revealed that the 40-year-old actor is offered the role of Yoon Jae, a charismatic and brilliant leader from the space agency.

In response to the news, Gong Yoo's agency, Management SOOP released their statement regarding his participation.

It said, “It is true that Gong Yoo is considering appearing in The Sea of Silence. However, it is not yet confirmed.”

Already billing in the sci-fi series “Kingdom” actress Bae Doo Na has also been reported to be part of the series and will be handled by director Choi Hang Yon and will be written by Park Eun Kyo.

The Sea of Silence will begin filming in August 2020.
