Unang Hirit host Lyn Ching is saddened by the death of Slumdog Millionaire actor Irrfan Khan, whom she had the opportunity to interview four years ago.

'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Life of Pi' actor Irrfan Khan dies at 53

In a lengthy Instagram post last April 30, Lyn looked back on her interview with the Indian superstar, which she described as "cool" and "calm."

"Back in June 2016, i had the chance to speak to Indian superstar Irrfan Khan as he was, along with Actor Tom Hanks and Director Ron Howard, promoting their movie Inferno in Singapore.

"He was cool, calm and collected, unfazed by the sheer number of interviewers milling about the convention center."

Lyn will also forever remember Irrfan's sweet surprise for his son Matty, who is a huge fan of his other film Jurrasic World.

The Kapuso host shared, "My son Matty was such a huge fan of Jurassic World in which he starred prior to inferno. After the interview, I told him so.

"He then asked his assistant to hand him a piece of paper, any paper, so he could write a special note to Matty.

"A day after our interview, he saw me at the lobby as i finished up work.

"We chatted briefly and i thanked him again for his note to my boy and he wished me well."

She added that Irrfan Khan's death is such a huge loss, especially for those lives he has touched.

"His death is such a loss and i feel for those whose lives he has touched.... mine included. RIP Irrfan Khan."

In 2018, the actor revealed that he has been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor but recovered after undergoing treatment in London.
