Heart Evangelista unearths her first painting

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

In recent years, Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista has been sharing her masterpiece with her fans either through art galleries or the form of merchandise.

But did you know that her penchant for painting started when she was still a little girl?

On her Instagram story, dated yesterday (May 7), the Kapuso actress unearthed her very first painting and showcased them to the world.

She wrote in one of her entries, “12 years old. Wow, 23 years ago.”

The photo showed two paintings in a block canvass that depicts two sceneries: a landscape painting and an interior of a room.

Both artworks were signed by Heart with the year 1997.

She then proceeded by putting a light varnish on top to protect a great piece of her art history.

She tells the viewer while coating the painting, “One of my first artworks when I was 12 years old. This was actually the very, very first time I painted on canvass. I was taking lessons in Ayala Museum at the time.

“I was 12 years old? Can you imagine? So, it's a bit beaten up but I'm afraid.

“I don't want to touch it or retouch it so I'm just gonna varnish it so it will look a bit new.

“As you can see the canvass is slowly falling apart but I'm so glad I found this and I think I'm going to frame it.”

In early 2014, Heart Launched joined her very first art exhibit at Artist Space in Ayala Museum that catapulted her into the art scene.

She then held her second solo exhibit titled “Love Marie” a few months later at Galerie Joaquin in San Juan that saw her paintings getting sold out the same day it opened.

Her last exhibition was in 2018 titled “In Full Bloom” that features her 21-piece collection showing a bolder style.
