GMA to re-air Pinoy adaptation of hit 2003 South Korean series 'Stairway To Heaven'

By Jansen Ramos

GMA brings back on television the well-loved drama series, Stairway To Heaven, in lieu of Prima Donnas. This is after the Network's decision to temporarily suspend the production of its shows, following the implementation of Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Top-billed by Dingdong Dantes and Rhian Ramos, Stairway To Heaven is based on the hit 2003 South Korean series of the same title. It is set to air beginning May 18 at 3:25 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.

Stairway To Heaven follows the story of Cholo (Dingdong Dantes) and Jodi (Rhian Ramos) who are childhood friends and have a special bond that blossoms into love.

It is very close to the Kapuso actor's heart as he received his first acting award because of his stellar performance in the 2009 drama series.

Dingdong won the Best Drama Actor Award for Stairway To Heaven in the 2010 PMPC Star Awards for TV and was nominated for the same category at the 2010 Asian Television Awards.

Stairway To Heaven also starred TJ Trinidad, Glaiza De Casto, Jean Garcia, Jestoni Alarcon, and Ms. Sandy Andolong.

Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio portrayed the young Jodi and young Cholo.

Meanwhile, Faith Cuneta lends her voice and sings 'Pag-ibig Ko'y Pansinin,' the official theme song of Stairway To Heaven.

Follow their love story beginning May 18 on GMA Afternoon Prime after Ika-6 Na Utos (temporarily replacing Magkaagaw) and before Strong Girl Bong Soon at 4:15pm (temporarily replacing Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit).

While Magkaagaw, Prima Donnas, and Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit go off the air, viewers can still watch the shows' full episodes on GMANetwork.com and GMA Network app.
