GOT7's JB reveals own version of JJ Project song 'Tomorrow Today'

Ahgases were surprised at midnight yesterday as GOT7 member JB went on VLive to do a voice-only broadcast that ran for two straight hours.

Titled “Good night,” the GOT7 leader played DJ for the night as his fans eagerly listened to the tunes he shared during the live stream.

But the highlight of the night would have to be when JB revealed that he has his own version of JJ Project's 2017 hit song “Tomorrow Today.”

JJ Project is a duo consisting of JB and Jinyoung before they became part of GOT7 in 2014.

He said, “Our album Verse 2 is a very special album to me because it has a lot of meaning to it.

“I have my own version of 'Tomorrow Today' on my computer… the lyrics are quite different [from the one released].”

He then played his rendition but eventually got flustered to continue with the track.

“I'll play it for Ahgases once I have the confidence to put it out,” he said.”

When asked by a fan if there's a chance they'll release a third album, JB answered, “I don't know… If there's an opportunity.”

Soon afterward, the words “Tomorrow Today” became one of the top trending topics on Twitter with fans mentioning how the track defined the duo's identity as songwriters, performers, and singers.

“Tomorrow Today” is co-written by the duo and Park Jin Young, the founder of JYP Entertainment. The song features a gentle, percussive rhythm and harmonious melodies and its lyrics highlight the difficulty of making decisions about the future while being tied to the present.

The music video, which aired the same year, is in line with the song's message and shows the two traveling in an old car and it closes with JB and Jinyoung reading books such as J.D. Salinger's “The Catcher in the Rye,” which is a quintessential book for rebellious youth.
