Military musical Return: The Promise of the Day has released character posters featuring its star-studded cast.

Return: The Promise of the Day tells the story of Seung Ho, a military veteran searching for the remains of his fellow soldiers who served during the Korean War.

Seung Ho's grandson Hyun Min will soon take over his mission through an Army excavation operation.

The story will alternate scenes from the past and the present day Seung Ho.

On May 13, it was confirmed that EXO's D.O and Yoon Ji Sung have snatched the role of young Seung Ho.

Meanwhile, EXO's Xiumin and FT Island's Lee Hong Ki will play Hyun Min.

Actor Kim Min Suk and Infinite's Sungyeol will play Woo Joo, Hyun Min's best friend.

Lee Jae Kyoon and Lee Chan Dong will play Seung Ho's fellow soldier Hae Il.

Sejong of girl group gugudan is also part of the musical as Hae Sung, Hael Il's twin sister.

She shares the role of Hae Sung with Yang Ji Won and Lee Ji Hye.

Kim Ki Soo will play Jin Goo, Seung Ho's best friend.

Present-day Seung Ho will be played by Lee Jung Yeol and Lee Gun Myung.

Return: The Promise of the Day will run from June 4 to July 12 at the Olympic Park's Woori Art Hall in Seoul.

It is an original production commissioned by the South Korean Army and initially staged last year from October 22 to December 1 at the Olympic Park's Woori Financial Art Hall in southern Seoul.

The original run featured Xiumin and SHINee's Onew as the young Seung Ho. It also featured other high-profile K-pop stars like VIXX's N and 2AM's Jo Kwon.
