BTS Suga as Agust D

A visually satisfying video about contrasts is what BTS's Suga, also known as Agust D, wanted for the music video of his new song "Daechwita."

In a serene interview where you can hear birds chirping in the background, BTS's Suga talked more about his new Agust D mixtape 'D-2' and its title track "Daechwita."

He explained where the song got its title.

"Daechwita is a song that's played when the King is in a procession. I sampled real daechwita music and wrote the melodies," he explains.

Suga also revealed that he had a lot of creative input in the music video. Originally, it was planned to be very minimal but he himself insisted that they film in a historical drama set.

"I just wanted it to be visually satisfying, the music video," he says.

"I wanted to show the beauty in contrast. For example, wearing a modern outfit in front of a traditional building or doing a donut in the car. There are two men with the same scar but one is a blond king and the other one is another Agust D," Suga adds.

He also compared his first mixtape, the self-titled 'Agust D' with 'D-2.'

"The first Agust D mixtape was about stories about my past. This one is about my present," he shares.

Suga also says that his first mixtape helped a lot in the process of creating the second one.

"I listened to my previous work a lot working on this. I've improved things that needed improving. I went too hard before. I could do that back then but I can't rap like that now. I listened to my previous work a lot to make upgrades this time," he says.

"Daechwita" is a delightfully anachronistic video where Suga battles with himself as Agust D. It also features cameos from fellow BTS members Jin and Jungkook.
