A day prior to the release of “Chromatica,” American pop singer Lady Gaga spoke about her positive experience with South Korean girl group BLACKPINK.

In an interview for tvgroove, the pop star openly spoke about how ecstatic she was to collaborate with the international stars.

She tells the interviewer, “When I called out to them and asked if they wanted to sing a song with me, they were very happy and motivated. It was a really exciting collaboration.

“I wanted to celebrate them because I love powerful women like them, and they also wanted to celebrate me.”

Their collaboration was such a success that Lady Gaga admittedly said that she felt as if she was the fifth member of the Korean girl group.

“I had a great time together making this song. I was excited to hear them interpret the song in Korean and told them that the part was so creative and fun.

“I was amazed to hear their singing voice. They really are beautiful young women, they're talented, and I am proud to be the fifth member of BLACKPINK in this song.”

Lady Gaga's sixth studio album “Chromatica” drops on May 29 and will feature Rose, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo in the track “Sour Candy.”

Aside from “Sour Candy,” BLACKPINK is also gearing for their comeback in June which is announced to be part one of a multi-phased promotion by YG Entertainment.

In a statement made on May 18, the Korean agency shared its plan for the quartet that will last until September of this year --- including a full-length album.

They said, “BLACKPINK's first song, which will be released mid-June, is a pre-release title track.

“The members are currently preparing to film the music video of the song and they are currently picking up the pace of their final preparations, including their new choreography.

“The second new song, which is a special kind of song, is scheduled for a release in July or August.

“As it is their very first studio album, we hope to create more opportunities for the group to greet fans through performances and other content than any year before through this three-step, multi-phased release.

“Please show love and support towards BLACKPINK and the members who are sincerely working hard for their upcoming comeback.”
