Hyun Bin is coming to the Philippines, telco company confirms
Korean actor Hyun Bin is definitely coming to Manila, as confirmed by Smart Communications team of executives during the company's very first digital press conference on Monday, June 1.
Present in the virtual event were PLDT-Smart First Vice President and Public Affairs Head Ramon Isberto, Smart President & CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer Alfredo S. Panlilio, Smart SVP and Head for Consumer Wireless Business Jane Basas, and Smart Vice President for Corporate Marketing and Strategy Lloyd Dennis Manaloto.
Among the topics discussed were the details regarding Hyun Bin's visit to Manila and his upcoming projects with Smart.

"It is not yet definite, but he is definitely coming. Smart is working out with the schedule.
"We will announce it when the right time comes," said PLDT-Smart First Vice President and Public Affairs Head Ramon Isberto.
Hyun Bin signed his one year contract with Smart this April 2020 and is now scheduled for three events with the telecom brand, including one visit to the Philippines.
According to Smart SVP and Head for Consumer Wireless Business Jane Basas, "We will fly him once but he has three events [lined up.]
"He is so excited to come. He said he wanted to be here for the launch of TVC.
"Given the guidelines with GCQ, we would have to wait," she added.

She also narrated what made them choose Hyun Bin for their Smart Giga Life campaign.
"[It's] the impact that he's had not just talking about the campaign message effectively, but actually delighting and making our customers and subscribers happy during these times."
Despite the pandemic, Smart managed to push through with their project and landed the very first local TVC featuring Hyun Bin.
"We were determined to get the project done," Ms. Basas said.
"One hundred percent of this project was done online.
"From the planning stages to clearing the story board with Hyun Bin, to the pre-prod, to the actual shoot, to the post-production, everything was done completely online. Thanks to the power of technology.
"Now, we have the first TVC of Hyun Bin for Filipinos."
Smart President and CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer Alfred Panlilio also praised Hyun Bin's humility during their video call.
"He seemed very nice, very down-to-earth.
"He thanked me for [choosing him to be] the endorser of our product. You can see how smart he is, no pun intended. Basically, he learned Tagalog, and said 'mahal ko kayo.'"
Smart Vice President for Corporate Marketing and Strategy Lloyd Dennis Manaloto compared Hyun Bin to his character in Crash Landing on You, Captain Ri.
"Just like his character Captain Ri, he didn't make a lot of fuss."
Hyun Bin recently appeared in the hit series Crash Landing on You with Korean actress Son Ye-jin.
He was also part of Secret Garden and My Name is Kim Sam Soon, which both aired in GMA Heart of Asia.
