The previous record-holder was the group's music video for "DNA," which gained 800 million views after a year and eight months from its release on April 12, 2019.
“Boy With Luv” took just a year and one month to achieve the same amount of views, making it the fastest BTS song to reach the milestone.
This also makes "Boy With Luv" the fastest Korean boy group music video to reach 800 million views.
“DNA” may have been dethroned, but it bags another achievement by being the first Korean boy group music video to reach 1 billion views. it joins the ranks of other Korean music videos such as PSY's “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman,” as well as BLACKPINK's “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
