Kapuso actress Winwyn Marquez wasn't shy to ask House Representative Eric Yap on Twitter after it was reported that the latter mentioned that the public may be misinformed about the anti-terrorism bill.

The ACT-CIS Party List representative was reported to have said during a live interview that celebrities who are against the bill are simply following a trend that's why they're calling for its abolition.

He was quoted saying, “Maraming celebrities ang nag-o-oppose nito, 'pag tinanong mo sila kung nabasa nila 'yung House Bill baka 90% hindi pa nabasa. Baka nag-react lang sila, nakita lang nila 'yung hashtag, so gayahin natin.”

To which the beauty queen reply, “What do you mean by just following the trend? I am curious po. Paki-explain po please and please enlighten us.

“Sa nangyayari ngayon tingin niyo po dahil trending lang kaya nag-vo-voice out ang mga tao?”

Winwyn then called for an open discussion about the issue stating, “As I've said before, I wish the government well lalo na ngayon. Because in times like this, we need to stay united at magtulungan.

“Pero 'di ko lang maintindihan ngayon bakit may ganito na nangyayari in the middle of the pandemic? Nag-shift po ba ang priorities niyo po?”

She also posted several questions on her Twitter account to serve as reference in the discussion.

“Eto po ba ang solusyon sa nangyayari sa atin? Makakatulong po ba ito sa pag-flatten ng curve? Do you think that people will feel safe with this bill? Do you think na hindi i-abuse ng ibang tao ang bill na 'to?

“Please enlighten me. Please,” she pleaded.

"Try to listen sa mga boses ng tao… Why are you making it so hard for us to feel safe?” she asked ending with a sad emoji.

Winwyn Marquez is among the many celebrities who pleaded to the Philippine government to scrap the new anti-terrorism bill.

As of Wednesday, the bill has been approved by the House of Representatives on its third and final reading and is now up for President Rodrigo Duterte's signature.
