By Cara Emmeline Garcia

South Korean boy group Stray Kids has officially made their comeback last June 17 and it's topping the charts!

Last Wednesday, the octet released its high-performance music video titled “God's Menu” for their first album “GO生,” which means “Go Live.”

The three-minute hip hop track is characterized by powerful rap sections as heard in the chorus “du du du,” complimented with intense dance moves that had STAYs asking for more.

The title track was composed by 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han) and VERSACHOI, and the lyrics were also written by 3RACHA.

During the unveiling of their album in VLive, the members revealed the songwriting process for the tracks as well as the reaction of JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young.

Stray Kids member Changbin said, “There are times when everyone faces unavoidable hardships and we wanted to convey the idea that we should [all] enjoy those moments and move forward with strength.

“Out of all the albums we've released, I think that 'GO生'is the most Stray Kids-like album because we were able to show how much we've grown.”

The members also spoke about how they chose the theme for “God's Menu,” in particular, the songwriting process for 3RACHA.

Changbin mentioned, “During the time we were writing our song, there was a drama based on cooking that was airing.

“We thought that we should also try making music by comparing the songwriting process to cooking. So, that's how we worked on our music with the concept of a chef creating a new dish.”

Bang Chan then said, “Park Jin-young spoke highly of the song. We were really proud because he told us that we need to keep doing what we're doing.”

While Changbin added, “All the members really liked it, and Park Jin-young told us that just by listening to the demo, he could clearly see Stray Kids flying around the stage and complimented us a lot.”

Following the release of 'GO生' and “God's Menu,” Stray Kids has topped the iTunes album charts in 23 countries setting a new record for the boy group.

The news was confirmed by their agency, JYP Entertainment, including countries like the United States, Canada, and more.

Prior to the release of the album, the group released a pre-debut extended play (EP) “Mix Tape” in January 2018 and officially debuted on March 25 with “I Am Not.”
