Dingdong Dantes's new business gets support from experts, gov't officials

By Jansen Ramos

Dingdong Dantes feels overwhelmed by those who showed support for his new business venture--delivery business DingDong PH--which aims to provide livelihood to Filipinos whose jobs have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his Instagram post shared on July 16, the Kapuso star expressed gratitude to their friends and partners for helping his team make the riders' training a successful one.

"#DingDongPH is grateful to be blessed with friends and partners who believe in our cause of empowering others and who generously support our community, especially our partner riders.

"Madalas man kami magpapansin gamit ang Dingdong jokes, walang biro ang training ng ating mga riders para kapansin-pansin ang service namin," he said.

The training that DingDong PH riders took was no ordinary training as they were trained by experts.

The riders underwent short courses on road safety and discipline under A-1 Driving Co., Inc., proper food and beverage handling under Executive Chef Edward Bugia, customer service excellence under professor and former National Youth Commissioner Jo Jan Paul Peñol, basic first aid and emergency preparedness under Morong Volunteer Emergency Response Team, and financial management under Chairman and Senior Tax Advisor of Asian Consulting Group Raymond Abrea.

The riders also took advanced motorcycle riding tips from Philippine Superbike Champion Raniel Resuello.

Dingdong believes that the riders' spiritual well-being and work ethics play an important role in their profession, so he sought help from Pido Aguilar, Inner life consultant and international inspirational motivational speaker, and Fr. Tito Caluag, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Formation of Magna Anima Teachers College, to develop the riders' spiritual readiness and values formation, respectively.

The Descendants of the Sun PH lead actor's new business would not have been possible without the assistance of such government officials as Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, and Senate Committees on Labor, Employment, and Human Resource Development Sen. Joel Villanueva and Sen. Risa Hontiveros.

"Again and on behalf of the DingDong community, taus-puso kaming nagpapasalamat to our trainers and supporters for helping us holistically prepare our rider community." Dingdong stated.

DingDong PH was born out of the Kapuso actor's desire to help the film/TV workers during the time of pandemic, when taping and events are canceled.

This idea was inspired by the logistics issues that he and his wife, Marian Rivera, encountered in delivering the actress' floral business products to their customers.
