People will remember him as the charismatic and talented leader of Kapuso boy group Down To Mars, but Nasser Amparna (formerly known as Jang) has found a new life in the island state of Singapore.

Award-winning morning show Unang Hirit (UH) got the chance to speak with the singer-composer on August 3, where Lyn Ching ask Nasser why he decided to leave the Philippines in 2014.

Nasser told Unang Hirit, “Medyo depressed ako niyan, that's the time na na-disband 'yung Down To Mars. I decided to take a break, gusto ko magbakasyon para mahanap ko 'yung sarili ko.

“And then pagdating ko dito gala-gala, so parang turista tiyempo dala ko lahat ng credentials ko wineigh ko kung ano 'yung kukunin ko sa hospital ba o sa education sector. So pinili ko 'yung sa education sector.”

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com prior to his guesting in UH, Nasser said that going to Singapore was the best decision for him because it allowed him to earn a living and still pursue his other passions like singing and vlogging.

Currently, he works as a lab specialist for an all-girls government-run school.

The OPM singer also said during his interview with Lyn Ching that he his happy where he is now.

“So ending hindi na ako bumalik sa Pilipinas. I have everything now, masaya ako ngayon.”

Nasser added that he is fortunate that he has the “best of both worlds."

“Masaya ang buhay dito sa Singapore in a way, sobrang safe.”

“This project nag-open 'yun ng door para sa ibang artist natin na nasa ibang bansa para ipagpatuloy nila 'yung passion project work nila. This is a passion work.

“I have the best of both world, kasi may sarili na akong trabaho, nagagawa ko pa rin 'yung gusto ko which is kumanta.”
