Wonho showcases emotional side in 'Losing You' music video teaser

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Almost a year after leaving K-pop boy group MONSTA X, singer Wonho is officially venturing on his own with the debut of his solo mini-album, “Love Synonym #1: Right For Me.”

For those who want to be in the loop, Wonho left MONSTA X last year following claims of marijuana use in 2013.

In early March, Wonho's case has been cleared of all charges and led him to sign a solo deal with Highline Entertainment, a branch of the band's label Starship Entertainment.

Following the back-to-back news, the South Korean singer is now making a solo debut, and it's coming sooner than expected with the release of his single, “Losing You.”

On August 11, Wonho gave fans a taste of what's to come by unveiling an emotional teaser of the track.

In it, he sang the lines, “'Cause losing me was better than losing you.”

In the comments, WEENEEs and MONBEBEs resonated with the line.

According to one netizen, “When he said, 'Cause losing is better than losing you' made me think of how he left MONSTA X so the boys wouldn't get hate and their comeback 'Follow' would go smoothly.

“He threw all of it away just so his boys could stay together.”

Another said, “I think this song would be Wonho's message for everyone who loves and support him. A hidden message for everyone.

“Wonho writes his songs with the deepest meaning and lets us get the logic.”

“Losing You” will be released on Friday, August 14.
