Dingdong Dantes gathers Tech Dream Team for DingDong App

Multi-awarded actor, director, producer and philanthropist Jose Sixto "Dingdong" Dantes III gathers the country's best technology professionals to build a socially responsive online food marketplace and delivery app. DingDong App serves the greater good by employing displaced workers of the entertainment industry as its riders, and supporting home-based specialty food and beverage businesses by providing a dedicated delivery system and auxiliary services.

As chair of the YesPinoy Foundation, which advocates community building and sustainable human development and empowerment, Dantes identified the pressing need for people to get back on their feet after losing their livelihoods to the pandemic. The opportunity to help came by way of harnessing technology to serve the increasing demand for delivery services and home-made food products.

“I have personally witnessed how the COVID-19 crisis affected our work in the entertainment industry, and how home-based businesses cope with and even thrive on it. These challenges and opportunities made the initiative and partnership imperative and timely. Building the platform became a cause bigger than ourselves,” Dantes shared.

Dantes tapped Multisys Technologies Corporation, led by Philippine tech giant, David Almirol Jr., to develop the end-to-end platform for the DingDong App. The PLDT-backed company is the leading software solutions company in the country. "We feel passionate and enthusiastic about working on the Dingdong App because of its groundbreaking concept. It doesn't only bring together an online marketplace and a rider fleet, but also an online community together that is backed by a socially-responsive advocacy--all into a single app. They've assembled a powerhouse team and together, we're developing a lot of exciting innovative features. We can't wait to introduce this to the market," Almirol said.

Technology law firm Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra, led by Philippines' foremost tech lawyer, Mark Gorriceta provides legal corporate and regulatory compliance work. Gorriceta shares his experience and expertise being counsel to leading tech and online platforms.

Business technology coach and serial software entrepreneur, Joey Gurango, with a 30-year resume in the tech industry working at Apple, Microsoft and several other top tech firms, joins the team as a senior adviser.

Advertising veteran and television commercial director Sid Maderazo joins the company to lead the Marketing team and strengthen brand image and communications on all fronts.

To strategically grow the business, Ranvel Rufino, leads the business development of the DingDong App. He is concurrently CEO of BOOKT, the professional celebrity and entertainment agency, and brings with him over two decades of experience as a private banker, business development expert, and an entrepreneur.

Together, the team is working to use the Dingdong App platform to bring the vision it shares with Dantes' YesPinoy Foundation and other partner groups - to empower every Filipino and communities - to fruition.
