BTS breaks YouTube record for most viewed video in first 24 hours

Korean boy group BTS's latest music 'Dynamite' has broken several YouTube records.

A reported three to four million fans around the world tuned in at the YouTube premiere of Dynamite's music video, the group's first all-English single, on Friday, August 21.

The record was previously held by fellow Korean group BLACKPINK, who had 1.65 million concurrent viewers on the premiere of their song 'How You Like That' in June.

In less than 24 hours, 'Dynamite' already garnered 94 million views, and has shattered 'How You Like That's record of being the most viewed video in the first 24 hours of 86.3 million.

As of writing time, the music video is at 97 million views and counting.

Aside from YouTube, 'Dynamite' also topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 104 countries and regions.

According to soompi.com, 'Dynamite' gives a “hopeful message for all those who are having a hard time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
