Lloyd Cadena's family reveals cause of his death

Vlogger Lloyd Cadena "suffered a heart attack while asleep."

Llloyd's family revealed the cause of death of the popular YouTube content creator on his social media accounts on Sunday night, September 6, two days after he passed away.

Through a post uploaded in Lloyd Cafe Cadena Facebook page, the family also confirmed that the 26-year-old social media star tested positive for COVID-19.

The short statement read, "Lloyd was confined in the hospital on September 1 due to high fever and dry cough.

"He was tested for COVID-19 on the same day which the result came out positive on September 3.

"As soon as the result of his swab test came out, our family, including BNT immediately isolated themselves.

"His vitals were okay and had no complaints.

"On September 4, 5am he was seen by the staff unresponsive and pale looking.

"As informed by the doctor, he suffered a heart attack while asleep.

"He was cremated yesterday and his remains is in our house in Cavite in the meantime."

Meanwhile, in the same statement, Lloyd's family thanked everyone who extended sympathy and prayers to them.

"There are simply no words to express our heartfelt thanks for the prayers and sympathy you have extended to our family during this time of loss," the statement read.

"All expressions of sympathy, including flowers and cards are welcome. You may send them to our address at #14 Scarah, Kaingin Rd., Brgy. Sto. Niño, Parañaque City."

Lloyd started his vlog on YouTube in 2010. He has two channels, which have more than eight million subscribers combined.

Aside from vlogging, Lloyd also authored four books, Eng Serep Megwele (2014), Hopia (2015), Mahal Ko na Siya... Rak na Itu! (2016), and Ex-Rated (2018).

He is also best remembered for being charitable. Most recently, he gave away mobile tablets to underprivileged kids in Parañaque.
