By Felix Ilaya

After joining the first season of The Clash way back in 2018, Lyra Micolob was launched as part of the Kapuso girl group XOXO in August of 2019 together with her co-contestants, Riel Lomadilla, Dani Ozaraga, and Mel Caluag.

In Lyra's exclusive interview with GMA Music, the up-and-coming Kapuso diva shared how the challenges of being part of a girl group.

According to her, "Actually being in a girl group is very challenging. Siyempre sobrang sanay kami na kumanta mag-isa ever since and it's a big adjustment when doing harmonies. Siyempre kahit mga singers na kami, we need to harmonize together and kailangan namin matutunan how to sing and sound as one kahit iba-iba kami ng boses or iba-iba kami ng genre na kinakanta.

"Siyempre if you are part of the girl group, it takes a lot of patience and understanding sa isa't isa."

Now that they released their self-titled debut single and have known each other for over a year, Lyra's bond with the girls is stronger than ever.

"Sobrang life-changing 'nung nabuo 'yung XOXO, andami naming natanggap na blessings, sunud-sunod 'yung guestings and exposures namin, binigyan din kami ng napakadaming events and gigs. Doon pa lang, sobrang dami nang sumuporta and ang dami pang nakakakilala sa 'min.

"And of course 'nung nabuo 'yung XOXO, nakahanap ako ng bagong family. Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa GMA at sa GMA Artist Center for believing in our talents. And sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa'min at naniniwala, maraming salamat sa inyo," she said.
