Award-winning screenwriter and director Chris Martinez couldn't help but contain his excitement after a VIP visited their taping in Pasig City for weekly Kapuso sitcom Daddy's Gurl.

No less than Mayor Vico Sotto, son of the show's lead actor Vic Sotto, visited them on the set of their show at the Rainforest Adventure Experience Park last December 8.

In an instagram post, Direk Chris lauded Mayor Vico for his hard work.

If not for the social distancing measures due to COVID-19, he would have given Mayor Vico a big hug.

He said, “Yung gusto mo siyang bigyan ng congratulatory hug for all the great things he has done during these trying times pero hindi mo magawa kasi social distancing dapat!

“Saludo kami sa iyo, Mayor @vicosotto ! Salamat sa pagbisita sa aming set ng #daddysgurl kanina! Na starstruck.”

According to Direk Chris, it was also his first-time to join the location taping of Daddy's Gurl after several months.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Vico jokingly said that no special treatment was given to Daddy's Gurl team even if it is produced by his dad's production company M-Zet Productions.

He wrote, “Binisita ko sila para maningil ng fees. Joke lang. Pero totoong may fees sila

“Actually, nung una nahihiya 'yung mga empleyado ng LGU na singilin ang M-Zet Productions ng fees, dahil alam nilang kay Papa 'yun.

“Pero nung nalaman ko 'to, ang sabi ko, MAS LALONG DAPAT singilin 'pag kamag-anak ko!! Ma-check nga bukas kung bayad na sila.”
