SHINee's Onew sings medley of 'Dream Girl' and 'Ring Ding Dong' in latest live broadcast

Less than a month until their highly anticipated comeback, SHINee member and leader Onew made a surprise live streaming event for fans to add more excitement to their forthcoming return.

On January 14, Onew made four live stream broadcasts from Chuncheon, the capital of Gangwon Province in South Korea, giving fans a glimpse of a snowy cabin setting.

The first out of the four elicited some funny reactions from fans because, instead of being greeted by the K-pop celebrity, SHAWOLs were treated with different sceneries, including a snowy ground, random trees, and a cute dog, prompting them to ask, “Where's Onew?”

By the 15-minute mark, the idol finally revealed himself that showed his brand new look -- a bleached blonde hair that complimented his fair skin, setting fans into a frenzy all over Twitter.

Immediately, Onew said he was sorry to have appeared late in the broadcast because he was recording something special for fans.

He then returned the phone to one of his staff members, who coyly gave a snippet of what's to come: an acoustic version of their debut song, “Replay.”

After a few technical difficulties, the fourth part of the broadcast showed Onew with singer-songwriter Yoo Jae-hwan, where they revealed that they are working on a medley of music from the whole SHINee discography.

The two then embarked on a musical game where the SHINee leader had to guess the song's title after hearing its introduction.

And while the other songs were easy-peasy for the 31-year-old singer, it took him a while to remember the title of “Dream Girl” from their 2013 album of the same name.

Eventually, Jae-hwan did a test medley of all the songs he remembered from SHINee and included some suggestions from the chat. But it always came back to “Dream Girl” and “Ring Ding Dong,” prompting Onew to a burst of cute laughter.

It is not known where the recorded medley would be aired, but fans speculate that it will go live in Onew's popular “Jinki Jangpan” series under SHINee's YouTube channel.

In early January, SM Entertainment confirmed that SHINee would be having their comeback this February after a two-year military hiatus.

The South Korean agency announced the great news via their SMTOWN LIVE “Culture Humanity” concert on New Year's Day that showed a one-minute clip compilation of SHINee's hit songs over the years, including “Replay,” “Ring Ding Dong,” “Lucifer,” “Sherlock (Clue+Note),” and so much more.

It then ended with the words, “2021, SHINee is back.”

On Thursday, January 14, SHINee's much awaited Season's Greetings 2021 package was finally announced. It will be released on March 2021, and features Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin in lab scientist-inspired looks.
