WATCH: Michael V looks back on 'Bubble Gang's song parodies
For the past 25 years, multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V has been at the helm of the longest-running comedy show in the Philippines, Bubble Gang
Since then, he has created multiple parodies of the hit songs of different eras from Imago's "Taralets," which was first released in 2006, to Ex Battalion's "Hayaan Mo Sila," released in 2018.
Aside from these Filipino songs, Bitoy has also parodied Hollywood songs such as Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," and Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust."
Looking back, Bitoy revealed his personal Top 10 Bubble Gang parodies on his YouTube channel.
#10: "Takubets" (Parody of Imago's "Taralets")
Fun fact: After the parody was aired on Bubble Gang, Imago's then vocalist Aia de Leon met Michael V in Eat Bulaga! Michael revealed that the first thing Aia said to him was "you're crazy" before revealing that they enjoyed the parody.
#9: "Naman" (Parody of JK Labajo's "Buwan")
Fun fact: 'Bubble Gang' mainstay Antonio Aquitania really knows the chord of "Buwan."
#8:"Isaw Nga" (Parody of South Border's "Ikaw Nga")
Fun fact: When Michael V performed his parody with South Border, the group's then-lead vocalist Vince Alaras could not sing his part because of the lyrics "Isaw nga, galing sa nagbabagang uling ni Aling Kikay."
#7: "'Wag na 'Wag" (Parody of Kitchie Nadal's "Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin")
Fun fact: Did you know that the music video of 'Wag na 'Wag only took one take just like the original?
#6 "Mamaw" (Parody of Kamikazee's "Narda")
Fun fact: Because of the lyrics of this parody, Michael V has consulted with his good friend and fellow 'Bubble Gang' comedian Diego Llorico to make sure that the lyrics are not offensive.
#5 "'Sensya Na" (Parody of Cueshe's "Pasensya Na")
Fun fact: Although Michael V has yet to confirm it, someone has told him that the director of the music video of Cueshe's "Pasensya Na" didn't like what he has done.
#4 "Uh-oh" (Parody of Up Dharma Down's 'Oo')
Fun fact: Did you know that Michael V. has tried to contact Up Dharma Down lead vocalist Armi Millare for a cameo on his music video of his parody? Unfortunately, their schedules did not match.
#3 "Hala Pack Up" (Parody of Eraserhead's "Alapaap")
Fun fact: Did you know that the original Eraserhead's bassists Buddy Zabala noticed Michael V's singing voice is similar to those of Eraserhead's vocalist Ely Buendia?
#2 "Bathroom Dance" (Parody of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance")
Fun fact: This parody is the first parody that Bitoy directed himself.
#1 "Gayahin Mo Sila" (Parody of Ex Battalion's "Hayaan Mo Sila")
Fun fact: For Michael V, this is the number one parody song he created because of the appearance of Ex Battalion in the music video.
