Fans seem to have a hard time wrapping their heads around the fact that their idols--yes, the ones they put in a pedestal, the ones they admire, dream about, or cry over-- can also experience the pain of being rejected or dumped.

And as it turns out, balladeer and Super Junior member Kyuhyun has had his fair share of experiences of saying goodbye to the person he loved, as revealed in JTBC's Mystical Record Shop.

During the show, emcee Yoon Jong-shin was discussing the dos and don'ts of breakup and promptly asked him, “How do you break up with someone?”

Kyuhyun replied, “You have to talk about it, of course.”

Turning to him, hosts Yoon Jong-shin, Jang Yoon-jeong, and Red Velvet's Wendy intently listened to him as he recounted his story.

“I've been dumped before,” he said.

“I feel like you should probably meet with someone in person or call them on the phone to break up with them.”

To lighten the mood, Yoon Jong-shin said that his generation always thought it was proper to meet up in person if you're breaking up, prompting the K-pop idol to recall an incident when he broke up with his ex-girlfriend.

He related, “When I was dumped in my first year in high school, my ex told me over the phone, 'Let's break up.'

“So I said, 'No, let's meet in person and let's talk about it even if we do end up breaking up.”

By the time they met the singer immediately regretted the situation because it just made him feel sadder.

“So we met up, but I realized that in the end, you become even sadder if you meet in person.

“It actually might be better to just end things over the phone.”

Kyuhyun, along with other Super Junior hyungs have recently wrapped up their week-long promotions for their 10th studio album “The Renaissance.”

The album's title track, “House Party,” recently reached the attention of World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for its message of encouraging people to stay home amid the pandemic.

On March 19, the Director-General praised the song and thanked fans for encouraging him to listen to it.

He said, “Thank you, ELF, for sharing @SJOfficial's new song '#HouseParty' with us!

“#SuperJunior, you're on-point there! Indeed, we still need to maintain precautionary measures against #COVID19 to protect each other and control this pandemic. Thank you for reminding us through your music.”

Fans echoed the same sentiments. Some said their thank-yous to Dr. Tedros for acknowledging the good message of the song.

A Twitter user with the handle @glossierush8 tweeted: "Thank u so much dr Tedros. This song also reminds us about the precautionary measures we need to do in order to prevent the spread of COVID."
