Super Junior's Yesung captivates audience with 'Phantom Pain'

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Kickstarting his fourth solo mini-album to full gear, Super Junior vocalist Yesung is back with the release of his latest single and music video “Phantom Pain.”

In “Phantom Pain,” we see the member of the legendary K-pop boy group singing and guarding his lover, who seems to have been bedridden from an incurable disease while reminiscing on their many happy memories together.

For a brief moment, Yesung was woken up by his lover, as if she's cured of her disease, but to his disappointment, was only a dream.

The music video ends with a shot of the Korean singer lying beside his lover while snowflakes fall on top of them.

In a press release made by SM Entertainment, “Phantom Pain” is described as an old pop song with an impressive soft electric guitar and rhythmic drums.

Yesung's upcoming album, which remains untitled, is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2021. This will be the singer's fourth mini-album following his successful back-to-back solos starting with his 2016 “Here I Am,” which was followed by “Spring Falling” in 2017 and “Pink Magic” in 2019.

Besides his solo, Yesung and his other Super Junior members will be launching their special 10th Japan Anniversary concert through Naver's V Live.

Titled “ELF Japan 10th Anniversary - The Super Blue Party,” Leeteuk, Yesung, Siwon, Donghae, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun will be performing and meeting their Japanese fans through the Beyond Live channel on April 25, 2021, at 4 p.m.

Tickets are now being sold through the Naver V Live application.
